Chevrolet has finalized specs for its most powerful electric SUV yet — the 2025 Blazer EV SS will deliver 615 horsepower when it arrives at dealerships, packing significantly more punch than initially announced. The performance-focused model keeps its previously announced $61,995 starting price (including $1,395 destination).
The Super Sport’s muscle has grown considerably since its 2022 debut. What started as 564 hp has evolved through several updates, with Chevy engineers squeezing out an additional 51 horses during development. The dual-motor AWD system now produces 650 lb-ft of torque through its Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode — enough to launch this electric SUV from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.
Under the floor sits a 102-kWh battery pack, shared with rear-wheel drive RS models but larger than the 85-kWh unit found in other Blazer EV trims. EPA range figures are still pending.
The SS arrives as Chevrolet works to smooth out the Blazer EV’s rocky start. Software glitches forced a sales pause in December 2023, followed by price cuts across the lineup in March. Despite these early hurdles, our initial test drive revealed impressive efficiency and range from the standard models.
While the SS includes a retuned suspension for sharper handling, it takes a different approach than the track-focused Hyundai Ioniq 5 N — which matches the Blazer’s acceleration but commands a higher $67,475 price tag.
The high-performance SS caps a revised 2025 Blazer EV range that includes more powerful versions of existing trims and a new entry-level front-wheel-drive model.
UPDATED: An earlier version listed the base price with destination as $62,490. The correct price is $61,995.
