Kia has revealed price and specification details for its updated EV6 GT.

The Korean brand says the updated version of its performance crossover is faster and more engaging than before. It’s also more than £2,000 cheaper.

Pricing and Performance Updates

The new 2025 Kia EV6 GT starts at £59,985 – a £2,690 reduction compared to the outgoing model.

However, it brings technical upgrades that boost power, performance, range and charging speeds.

Central to the changes are upgraded motors which take the all-wheel-drive EV6 GT’s total output to 641bhp and 568lb ft. That’s a 41bhp and 22lb ft increase over the old model.

This power brings the EV6 in line with the related Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. It gives the Kia a 0-62mph time of just 3.5 seconds and top speed of 161mph.

Enhanced Driving Experience

Also matching the Ioniq, the new EV6 GT gets simulated gear shifts for the first time. These are controlled via paddles mounted on the steering column.

The system includes a rev counter, synthesised ‘engine’ sounds and physical responses to create a more involving driving experience.

Reflecting Kia’s vision of the EV6 GT as a grand tourer rather than outright sports car, the suspension has been tweaked. It now offers a softer ride than before for greater long-distance comfort.

Kia has also improved sound deadening materials throughout for a more refined drive.

Battery and Charging Improvements

Like the rest of the EV6 range, the new GT features an upgraded 84kWh battery. This offers more capacity and range but cuts weight compared with the old 77kWh unit.

The new battery brings an improved range of 279 miles on a charge and an 8% increase in charging power to 258kW.

That means the bigger battery can still be charged from 10-80% in just 18 minutes.

Design and Interior Updates

The EV6 GT also gets all the other recent updates to the regular line-up. This includes new interior materials, a bolder front end with “star map” lights and an updated infotainment system.

Unique to the GT are 21-inch alloy wheels and neon green brake callipers that mark it out from other EV6 models.

Inside, there’s neon green piping around the cabin, a neon green centre marker on the steering wheel and a neon green GT button. This activates the bespoke GT driving mode.

This delivers all 641bhp, sharpens the throttle response and steering and changes the theme of the instrument display to a unique colour and font.

As the flagship of the EV6 range, the GT comes fully loaded with equipment. This includes adaptive headlights and heated/ventilated seats to a powered tailgate, Meridian 14-speaker sound system and full suite of driver aids including highway assist 2.0.
