Cadillac’s taking its Lyriq electric SUV to new heights with the high-performance V model, which starts at $79,990 when production begins this spring at GM’s Tennessee facility.

The automaker’s first electric V-Series model packs a serious punch — 615 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque from its dual-motor setup. That’s enough muscle to launch this luxury EV from 0-60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, edging out its gas-powered CT5-V Blackwing sibling by a tenth of a second.

Despite the performance boost, Cadillac expects the Lyriq-V to deliver 285 miles of range from its 102-kwh battery pack.

Engineers didn’t just add power — they’ve thoroughly reworked the Lyriq’s underpinnings. The V rides 0.62 inches lower on adaptive dampers and features more aggressive final drive ratios of 11.59:1 front and 11.63:1 rear.

Stopping power comes from massive Brembo brakes up front, with 6-piston calipers clamping down on 15.3-inch rotors. The rear setup uses 13.6-inch discs with single-piston calipers.

Performance enthusiasts will appreciate the new Competitive Mode that lets drivers explore the Lyriq-V’s handling limits. There’s also a customizable V-Mode for adjusting steering weight, throttle response, and suspension settings.

Continental Performance Contact 6 summer tires come standard, though all-season Michelins are available for year-round use. The quicker 15.81:1 steering ratio (compared to 18.44:1 in standard models) should make the V feel more agile through corners.

Inside, the stunning 33.0-inch LED curved display gets V-specific graphics, while the head-up display adds augmented reality navigation. Super Cruise hands-free driving and a 23-speaker AKG Studio system with Dolby Atmos come standard.

The exterior changes are subtle but purposeful — revised fascias, extended rockers, and unique V-Series badges set it apart. There’s even a V-exclusive Magnus Metal Frost paint option and model-specific 22-inch wheels.

Cadillac’s given the Lyriq-V its own customizable sound signature that can be adjusted through different modes or turned off entirely for a quieter ride. The automaker says it delivers a “multilayer experience exclusive for the V.”

Buyers can option their Lyriq-V with nappa leather and power-adjustable side bolsters on the V-specific front seats, along with carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin.
