Honda announced the all-electric Super-N kei car will launch in the UK this July with a starting price under £20,000.

The five-door Super-N serves as the spiritual successor to the Honda e. Previewed at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the new model draws design inspiration from Honda’s 1980s City Turbo II.

The Super-N features a boxy, upright design with flared wheel arches and a wide stance. Large bumpers include aero ducts on either side.

Performance and Technology

The Super-N runs on a compact e-Axle system with a 64bhp electric motor as standard power. A Boost mode unleashes 95bhp in short bursts for additional performance.

Honda equipped the Super-N with a simulated seven-speed manual transmission. The company aims to deliver what it calls “entertaining handling and dynamics” that will “redefine what is possible for a small EV.”

An Active Sound Control System provides artificial exhaust notes during driving.

Interior Design and Features

The cabin takes a straightforward approach with a digital driver display and central infotainment screen. A physical knob controls the Bose stereo system.

Air-conditioning controls use robust buttons in a Tonka toy-style design. The steering wheel includes tactile controls for voice commands, track switching, and lane assist.

When drivers engage Boost mode via the steering wheel button, interior lighting switches from blue to purple. The rear features a foldable bench seat.

Range and Charging

Honda hasn’t released battery capacity or charging specifications yet.

The Super-N offers up to 128 miles on the combined cycle and 198 miles in urban driving conditions.

Customization Options

Honda promises an extensive options list for Super-N buyers. Available exterior colors include a two-tone finish with contrasting black gloss on the roof panel and rear spoiler.

Several distinctive body graphics will be available as well.

Market Context

The Super-N’s arrival provides relief for Honda’s UK customers. Last month, Honda canceled its Series 0 EV line just months before launch – citing financial losses and declining US EV demand.

The company also scrapped its Afeela joint venture with Sony in March.

The Super-N will compete against the new Renault Twingo, Hyundai Inster, and BYD Dolphin Surf when it reaches showrooms.
