Jeep’s Recon 4Xe electric off-roader will launch in late 2025, marking the brand’s third EV model.
The Wrangler-sized SUV, first revealed in 2022, recently appeared in Jeep’s Super Bowl commercial showcasing the company’s multi-powertrain strategy.
The Recon features Jeep’s signature design elements — chunky bumpers, wide track, and the brand’s classic front grille. Like the Wrangler, it offers removable doors and roof panels.
Interior specs remain limited, though Jeep confirms the vehicle will include adaptable cargo space and entertainment features.
The electric off-roader will compete with:
- Ford Bronco
- Hummer EV
- Bollinger B1
The Recon won’t replace the Wrangler, which continues with gas and hybrid powertrains.
Built on Stellantis’ STLA Large platform, the Recon comes with permanent four-wheel drive and battery capacity exceeding 100kW. Standard equipment includes:
- Selec-Terrain traction management system
- Underbody protection
- Tow hooks
- Off-road tires
The Recon joins Jeep’s growing EV lineup alongside the Europe-exclusive Avenger and the larger Wagoneer S.
Sources indicate Jeep is developing a fourth electric vehicle — a mid-sized model to replace the Compass.
Production begins in late 2025, with full market availability in 2026.
