Can-Am unveiled its first all-electric ATV for the 2026 model year, marking a significant expansion of the BRP-owned brand’s electric vehicle lineup. The Outlander Electric represents the company’s entry into the electric quad bike market.

The Outlander Electric targets outdoor workers and enthusiasts who need silent operation. It uses BRP’s in-house Rotax E-Power electric motor – the same technology powering Can-Am’s electric motorcycle range.

Performance and Range

The electric ATV delivers 47 horsepower and 53 lb-ft of torque from its e-motor. Range hits up to 50 miles on a single charge, depending on terrain and riding conditions.

Its 8.9kWh battery charges from 20-80% in 50 minutes using a 22kW Level 2 charger.

The company emphasizes the vehicle’s “whisper-quiet” operation as a key differentiator from gas-powered competitors. This allows riders to explore without disturbing wildlife or natural environments.

Sound reduction features include dedicated XPS Recon Force tires, a low-noise cooling system, and optimized suspension tuning for smooth operation.

Work Capability

Despite going electric, the Outlander Electric maintains Can-Am’s reputation for ruggedness. It offers an industry-leading 830kg towing capacity – matching or exceeding many gas-powered ATVs in its class.

Over 120 accessories are available for different applications. Riders can switch between three drive modes: Normal, Sport, and Work, depending on their needs and terrain.

“With the Outlander Electric, we’re not just launching a new ATV, we’re introducing a new way to experience the outdoors and get the job done,” explained Can-Am’s global marketing director, Julie Tourville. “This vehicle is built to let riders and workers feel more connected to their surroundings – it’s powerful, quiet, and true to what we do at BRP.”

Pricing and Availability

The Outlander Electric comes in two trim levels. The base ‘T’ model starts at £15,995, while the ‘Max’ version with removable passenger seating costs £16,899.

This launch follows Can-Am’s return to motorcycles last year with the electric Pulse and Origin models. The Pulse targets urban riders, while the dual-purpose Origin handles both rural and non-rural environments.

The Outlander Electric’s arrival signals Can-Am’s commitment to electrifying its entire powersports lineup as the industry shifts toward sustainable alternatives.
