Toyota announced that buyers can now purchase the new C-HR+ electric SUV for less than £33,000 after the model qualified for the Government’s Electric Car Grant.

The C-HR+ is Toyota’s second dedicated EV following the bZ4x, which launched in 2023. Despite sharing part of its name, the C-HR+ is completely separate from the hybrid C-HR that’s currently available.

Entry-level pricing now starts at £32,995 for the Icon trim with the band 2 £1,500 ECG discount included.

The mid-tier Design model costs £36,150, while the range-topping Excel trim is priced at £40,150.

Battery Options and Range

Toyota’s mid-sized SUV coupé comes with front-wheel drive only in European markets. The company offers two battery sizes depending on which trim level you choose.

Design and Excel models use a 77kWh battery pack. This gives them a range of 376 miles and 345 miles respectively. The Icon trim gets a smaller 57.7kWh battery that delivers 285 miles on a single charge.

All C-HR+ models support 150kW fast charging – meaning you can charge from 10% to 80% in about 28 minutes.

The most powerful version available in the UK produces 221bhp. Toyota sells a 338bhp all-wheel drive variant in other markets, making it the most powerful non-GR vehicle in Toyota’s current lineup.

Extended Warranty Coverage

Toyota also announced it’s extending battery warranty coverage across its entire EV range by more than 50%. The new warranty limit exceeds one million miles – up from the previous 650,000-mile coverage.

That’s equivalent to more than 40 trips around the world or two return journeys to the moon.

Toyota initially lagged behind competitors during the transition to electric vehicles. The Japanese automaker has since accelerated its EV development and now offers three electric models: the C-HR+, bZ4x, and Urban Cruiser.

Two additional models are coming later this year – the bZ4x Touring and an all-electric Hilux pickup truck.

Toyota expects to announce electrified versions of the Land Cruiser and RAV4 in 2026 with deliveries starting in 2027.

Order books for the C-HR+ opened this week with deliveries scheduled to begin in March 2026. It’s unclear whether Toyota will extend ECG eligibility to its other electric models.
