Allstar & Co Charger Partner to Reduce Charging Costs

Allstar has partnered with Co Charger to give fleet drivers access to private home EV chargers across the UK, creating a new charging solution for electric vehicle users without home charging capabilities.

The collaboration allows Allstar fleet users to tap into Co Charger’s network of private home chargers, potentially reducing charging costs significantly. Public charging rates have recently dropped from 82p to 77p per kilowatt hour, but home charging remains substantially cheaper – as low as 6.7p/kWh in some cases.

Around half of EV drivers live in locations where installing a home charger isn’t possible.

Co Charger, launched in 2020, has built a network of over 6,000 hosts who rent their home chargers to neighbors without driveways.

Tom Rowlands, Allstar managing director, explained the partnership’s significance: “Just as fleets are in a mobility transition, we’re on a mission to extend the value of how we make fuel, EV, and business payments simple.”

“By partnering exclusively with Co Charger, we’re able to offer our customers an alternative to charging on the public network or at their homes. In particular, this will benefit those that aren’t able to install their own charger such as those living in apartment buildings or without a driveway, all while reducing costs and downtime for drivers.”

He added: “This is a further example of how we’re innovating with our partners to enhance our comprehensive solution to support businesses to manage costs, saving time and money.”

Joel Teague, Co Charger CEO, highlighted the operational benefits: “We’re proud to be partnering with Allstar to bring near-home EV charging to fleets across the UK. Public charging isn’t just expensive – it’s disruptive to operations.”

“By enabling drivers to charge overnight, when they’re off duty, we’re helping fleets reduce costs, cut downtime, and accelerate their shift to electric. This is the next chapter in the UK’s EV journey, and we’re excited to be leading it together.”
