Alpine has opened UK orders for its A290 electric hot hatch, with prices starting at £33,500.
The A290, which shares a platform with the Renault 5, recently earned European Car of the Year honors. Customers placing orders before February 4 receive complimentary servicing and VIP experiences.
Alpine offers the A290 in five trim levels: GT, GT Premium, GT Performance, GTS, and Launch Edition. Two motor options are available – a 178bhp and a 217bhp variant.
The 217bhp version accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds and delivers up to 226 miles of range from its 52kWh battery. The 178bhp model uses the same battery pack, achieving 236 miles of range.
Every A290 comes equipped with:
- Sports-tuned chassis with multilink rear suspension
- Brembo brakes
- Performance Michelin tyres
- Motorsport-inspired interior with ‘overtake’ button
The entry-level GT trim starts at £33,500 and includes:
- 19-inch alloy wheels
- Two-tone roof
- Heated seats and steering wheel
- Full LED lighting
- Adaptive cruise control
GT Premium trim costs £36,000, adding Nappa leather upholstery, bi-tone roof treatment, Alpine blue brake calipers, and an upgraded audio system.
Higher trim levels feature the more powerful motor, performance-focused tyres, black wheels, and on-board telematics. The Launch Edition, priced at £38,500, includes the Safety Pack and Driving Pack as standard.
Early adopters ordering before February 4 receive three years of complimentary servicing and can choose from VIP experiences including A110 track days and hospitality at major UK Alpine events.
First deliveries begin in April.
The A290 leads Alpine’s new “dream garage” lineup, which will expand to include the A390 crossover and an electric version of the A110 sports car.
