Alpine has announced its lineup for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, celebrating the French brand’s 70th anniversary with a showcase featuring the all-electric A290 Rallye and the upcoming A390 EV.

The A290 Rallye represents a stage-ready version of Alpine’s hot hatch. It comes equipped with a full roll cage and competition-focused upgrades.

Key modifications include a ZF limited slip differential, hydraulic handbrake, and enhanced suspension components. The brakes and running gear have also been upgraded for rally use.

Power and Performance Details

Like the road-going A290 GTS, the Rallye version uses a front-mounted motor producing 217bhp and 221lb ft of torque.

Alpine has replaced the standard ABS system with race-specific controls. The car also features a rally-themed external sound generator – an important feature for electric vehicles in motorsport applications.

The standard A290 will also be displayed alongside its competition sibling.

A390 SUV Makes Its Debut

Alpine’s second EV on display will be the A390 – the brand’s answer to vehicles like the Porsche Macan Electric.

Orders open in November with initial deliveries expected in early 2026. Pricing is expected to start around £60,000.

The A390 is built on Renault’s AmpR platform and features a tri-motor system delivering over 460bhp. Despite being an SUV, Renault describes the A390 as a “race car in a suit.”

Beyond Electric Power

Alpine’s showcase isn’t limited to EVs. The Alpenglow HY6 prototype will tackle Goodwood’s hillclimb throughout the event.

This hydrogen-powered prototype produces 740bhp and represents Alpine’s exploration of alternative fuel technologies.

The A110 R Ultime will also run at the event. This final iteration of Alpine’s sports car produces 345bhp and achieves 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds.

Alpine claims the R Ultime is 20 seconds quicker than the standard A110 R around the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The A110 R Ultime marks the end of an era – after a decade on sale, the A110 will be replaced by an all-electric version in 2026.

“With motorsport in Alpine’s DNA, we are going the extra mile to bring an amazing and headline-grabbing line-up of cars to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year,” said Nic Burnside, Alpine UK managing director.

“In the UK, Goodwood will be the highlight of our 70th anniversary celebrations, and we are determined to put on a memorable show for all the fans visiting this iconic venue.”

Alpine’s vehicles will participate in the First Glance, New Classics, and Supercar demonstration sessions. An Alpine F1 demonstration car will also take to the hillclimb each day.

The 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from Thursday July 10 to Sunday July 13. This year’s theme celebrates 75 years of Formula 1.
