Andersen has partnered with Octopus Energy to integrate the electricity provider’s dynamic EV tariff into its home charging stations, according to company officials.
The partnership allows drivers to access the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff through their Andersen chargers. The adaptive pricing system offers electricity costs as low as 7p per kWh throughout the day.
Smart Charging Technology
Intelligent Octopus Go monitors energy prices in real time. The system automatically charges connected vehicles when electricity is cheapest during the day – not just during set overnight periods.
Octopus estimates drivers covering 10,000 miles annually could save up to £585 by switching to the tariff.
Most Andersen charging units now work with the dynamic pricing system. Compatible models include the A3, Quartz and Quartz Vision chargers.
Single-phase versions of the flagship A2 manufactured after August 2023 also support the integration.
Easy Setup for Existing Customers
Current Andersen owners can sign up for the tariff and start using smart charging immediately. No hardware changes are required.
New customers get an additional incentive – those who purchase an Andersen charger and join Intelligent Octopus Go receive credits worth 5,000 miles of charging. That’s equivalent to £106 added to their Octopus account.
“This marks a new milestone to further offer Andersen customers access to low-cost energy tariffs and choice across UK energy providers,” said David Martell, Andersen’s chief executive.
Martell noted that Intelligent Octopus Go is the UK’s most popular EV tariff. Integration with the service has been a priority for Andersen.
The partnership expands charging options for drivers looking to reduce their electricity costs while supporting grid efficiency through optimized charging schedules.
