Audi has revealed its new A6 e-hybrid quattro, promising more than 60 miles of all-electric range from the plug-in hybrid model.
The A6 e-hybrid quattro will join the all-electric A6 e-tron, petrol and mild-hybrid diesel models in both saloon and estate variants. Orders will open in June, with first customer deliveries expected later this summer.
Under the hood, the new plug-in hybrid combines a 2.0-litre petrol engine with a 105kW electric motor integrated into the seven-speed DSG transmission housing. Together, they deliver 295bhp and 332lb ft of torque.
This powertrain gets the A6 saloon from 0-62mph in six seconds with a top speed of 155mph.
The electric system features a new 20.7kWh battery – offering approximately 45% more capacity than the previous-generation A6 TFSI e. Despite the significant capacity increase, the battery remains similar in physical size thanks to improved technology.
In electric-only mode, the saloon version can travel up to 64 miles on a single charge, while the Avant estate manages 63 miles.
AC charging capability has been upgraded to 11kW, reducing full charging time to just two and a half hours on compatible devices.
The new model borrows improved braking regeneration technology from Audi’s pure EV lineup. Drivers can choose from three energy recuperation levels or use a smart sat nav-based setting that plans energy recovery based on route conditions including gradients, corners and speed limits.
Quattro all-wheel drive comes standard across the range, and all UK models include four-wheel steering for improved maneuverability at low speeds and better stability at higher speeds.
Pricing starts at £60,980 for the saloon in Sport trim, with the estate version commanding a £1,950 premium. S Line models are priced at £63,780 for the saloon and £65,730 for the estate, while the range-topping Edition 1 costs £68,680 and £70,630 respectively.
Standard equipment across all versions includes:
- Matrix LED headlights
- Leather upholstery
- Heated front seats
- Four-zone climate control
- 14.5-inch OLED touch display
- 11.9-inch digital instrument panel
S Line models add sports suspension lowered by 20mm, 19-inch alloy wheels (replacing the Sport’s 18-inch ones), privacy glass, sports seats, and aluminium and brushed steel interior trim details.
Edition 1 cars feature 20-inch wheels, black exterior trim, red-painted brake callipers and Dinamica fabric on the sports seats and headliner. They also include an enhanced driver assistance package and additional airbags.
