According to AUDI’s media site, the company’s Chinese-market joint venture has launched the E7X electric SUV with a massive 109kWh battery pack.

The vehicle delivers 466 miles of range on a single charge under China’s CLTC testing cycle.

AUDI represents Audi’s partnership with SAIC, China’s largest state-owned automaker that also owns MG. The brand uses all capital letters and doesn’t feature Audi’s traditional four-ring logo. These models stay exclusively in the Chinese market.

The E7X measures over five meters long – making it larger than the European Audi Q7. It’s two meters wide and 1.8 meters tall.

Like the E5 Sportback, AUDI’s first model, the E7X features what the company calls a “monolithic” design. This means a smooth, squared-off front end with simple lighting and wrap-around lightbars at both ends.

Interior Features Target Tech-Focused Market

AUDI hasn’t shown the E7X’s cabin yet. But the company expects to include dashboard-wide screens specifically for “particularly tech-savvy Chinese customers.”

Layered bamboo-effect wood panels will cover the doors and center console.

The SUV will also get hidden air vents and digital wing mirror displays. AUDI’s 360 Driving Assist System comes standard – developed specifically for “Chinese traffic conditions and driving scenarios.”

Performance and Charging Capabilities

That 466-mile range uses China’s CLTC testing cycle, which typically shows 15% to 20% higher numbers than Europe’s WLTP standards.

The E7X runs on a dual-motor setup producing between 400 and 670 horsepower.

Instead of the Euro-spec Q6 e-tron’s 800V PPE platform, the E7X uses AUDI and SAIC’s 900V Advanced Digitalised Platform. This China-only architecture supports up to 400kW fast charging.

That charging speed means about 200 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

AUDI first showed the E7X concept at Auto Guangzhou last year. The company confirmed it’ll debut at Shanghai’s motor show, running from April 24 to May 2026.

Sales begin during the first half of this year in China.
