Awaze has partnered with home charger provider Ohme to install wallboxes across its holiday rental properties. The collaboration aims to meet growing demand from electric vehicle drivers seeking charging options during vacations.

Europe’s largest holiday rental group reports that properties with EV chargers generated 39% more revenue and secured 16% more bookings compared to homes without charging infrastructure in 2025.

The partnership comes as EV sales jumped 24.3% year-on-year. Since 2022, the number of Awaze properties equipped with home chargers has doubled.

Free Charger Installation Program

Property owners who agree to wallbox installation will receive a free home charger from Ohme. The program targets Awaze’s portfolio of more than 20,000 UK properties available through Cottages.com and Hoseasons brands.

“This partnership with Ohme is a fantastic opportunity to add even greater appeal to our owners’ properties while giving more value and convenience to guests choosing an EV-friendly holiday,”

said Matthew Price, Awaze CEO.

Price emphasized that the collaboration benefits both property owners and EV-driving guests across the company’s rental network.

Cost Benefits for Holiday Charging

Home charging remains the most affordable option for EV drivers compared to public charging networks. Peter McDonald, Ohme’s director for mobility, highlighted the financial advantages for vacationing drivers.

“This new collaboration between Ohme and Awaze means more EV drivers will be able to access cheaper charging when on holiday and avoid relying on public charging, which is often more expensive,”

McDonald said.

He noted that growing EV ownership will increase future demand for holiday rental charging infrastructure.

The trend extends beyond Awaze – competitors including Airbnb, Forest Holidays, and other rental firms are also offering properties with wallbox installations. Lonely Planet published a dedicated European EV roadtrip guide in 2025, reflecting increased interest in electric vehicle travel.
