Be.EV announced it’s building four ultra-rapid charging hubs across London by the end of the year. The company’s investing £2.5m to expand the capital’s public charging network.

The charge point operator will construct four sites with 30 new ultra-fast 150kW charging bays. These chargers deliver 80% charge in 20 minutes.

The first Be.EV ultra-rapid hub will open at the Crown Hotel London in Cricklewood, North London. Additional sites include Croydon and Dartford in southeast London, plus Watford in the northwest.

London Leads in Public Charging

London already ranks as the UK’s best location for public charging with over 26,304 public charge points. That’s nearly triple the South East region, which holds second place.

The city aims to achieve zero carbon status by 2030.

Be.EV CEO Asif Ghafoor described the installations as future-proofing the capital’s EV charging infrastructure.

“London is crying out for reliable, accessible EV charging – and this expansion is about meeting that demand head-on. We’re helping to future-proof the city by putting chargers where people need them most: close to homes, shops and leisure destinations.”

Hospitality Sector Embrace

AG Hotels CEO and managing director Girish Grover highlighted how EV charging has become essential for the hospitality industry.

“Onsite EV charging is becoming a clear differentiator in the hospitality sector, shifting from a nice-to-have to an essential service.”

He emphasized the partnership will help meet growing traveler expectations while attracting local EV drivers.

“It’s a strategic step that strengthens our sustainability agenda and ensures our hotels remain competitive as travel behaviours evolve.”

The UK currently operates 86,163 public EV chargers nationwide. Of these, 17,132 are rapid or ultra-rapid devices spread across 6,554 locations.

Be.EV’s charging network includes more than 750 live charging bays. The company plans to reach 1,600 bays by the end of 2025.
