Believ partners with Wallbox to expand UK rapid EV charging network

EV charging operator Believ and charging solutions provider Wallbox announced a strategic partnership to deploy rapid and ultra-rapid charging stations across the UK.

The collaboration will add Wallbox’s Supernova charging units — ranging from 60kW to 220kW — to Believ’s network, addressing growing demand for convenient charging locations.

“Our goal is to deliver the infrastructure that not only serves existing EV drivers, but also encourages more to make the transition away from petrol and diesel vehicles,” said Believ CEO, Guy Bartlett.

Wallbox’s scalable technology lets operators meet current charging needs while preparing for future expansion. The first installation under this partnership is already operational in Scotland, with more locations planned across the UK.

“Drivers need to see charging technology working well at convenient locations that serve regular journeys, as well as their favourite restaurants, coffee shops and supermarket destinations,” Bartlett said. “Crucial to this is that charge point operators deliver the full range of charging speeds depending on site needs and driver dwell times.”

“Partnering with Believ allows us to bring our high-performance charging technology to more drivers across the UK, ensuring they have access to fast, reliable charging where they need it most,” said Douglas Alfaro, chief fast charging officer at Wallbox.

Believ — backed by Liberty Global and Zouk Capital, which manages the HM Treasury’s Charging Infrastructure Investment Fund — has started 2025 with several initiatives. The company opened an Edinburgh office in January and reduced charging rates in London’s Wandsworth and Waltham Forest boroughs to 48p/kWh, saving drivers up to 5p per mile.
