Bo has unveiled The Turbo, an all-electric scooter designed to break the world speed record at Bonneville Speed Week with a target top speed exceeding 100mph.
The Turbo uses a twin-motor setup from Rage Mechanics that produces 32bhp. That figure delivers a higher power-to-weight ratio than a Bugatti Veyron – thanks to a lightweight aerospace-grade aluminum chassis that can handle peak loads of 650kg.
During 18 months of testing, The Turbo accelerated faster than a Tesla Model 3.
Engineering Features
Built on the foundation of the road-going Bo M, this handbuilt scooter incorporates ram air-intakes inspired by Bo’s collaboration with the Williams Formula 1 team.
The cooling system forces high-speed airflow through dual motor control units and the 1.8kWh battery pack. Range reaches up to 150 miles on a single charge.
Bo CEO Oscar Morgan explained the company’s motivation for the record attempt:
“Our passion is elite vehicle engineering, and we are firm believers in the human spirit of adventure. The UK already has a proud history in this pusuit with the first car to pas 100mph, then Thrust SSC taking the Land Speed record at the Bonneville Speed Week in Nevada.”
He continued: “I guess you could say the UK has a proud history of crazy Brits constructing vehicles that ought not be possible. E-scooter has been revolutionising how people move locally, but they are yet to enter the leagues of mainstream automotive culture.”
Production Plans
Morgan said Bo identified potential to create something unique in the sector – the world’s fastest electric scooter.
“The Turbo is part of our mission to elevate these futuristic vehicles into the top tier of automotive performance,” he added.
The company plans a limited built-to-order production run with a base price of $29,500 (approximately £22,000).
The first vehicle will be delivered to a collector in Madrid, Spain, ahead of the inaugural Madrid Grand Prix in 2026.
