Changan’s latest electric SUV will challenge the Skoda Elroq and Kia EV3 when it arrives in the UK during early 2027.
The Changan E06 – known as the Q05 in other markets – targets the competitive B/C-segment SUV space. Changan says it’s designed the model specifically for European preferences.
European sales begin in late 2026, with UK availability following in early 2027.
Dimensions and Interior Space
At 4.4 meters long with a 2.73-meter wheelbase, the E06 offers what Changan claims is class-leading interior space. Rear passengers get up to 800mm of knee room.
The cargo area provides a maximum of 545 liters – substantially more than both the Elroq and EV3.
Changan’s European focus shows in the exterior design. Two-level front and rear lights connect via full-width lightbars, while flush door handles reduce wind resistance.
Inside, the company acknowledges European drivers prefer physical controls. The E06 combines a 15.6-inch touchscreen with a 10.17-inch digital instrument display – but keeps traditional buttons for key functions.
Performance and Charging
A single 270bhp motor powers the E06. Changan describes this as “ample for every driving situation.”
The 61.7kWh LFP battery delivers up to 279 miles of WLTP range. That’s slightly behind class leaders but competitive for the segment.
Peak DC charging reaches 162kW, while standard 11kW AC charging handles overnight top-ups.
Battery coverage extends eight years or 124,000 miles. The overall vehicle warranty lasts seven years or 100,000 miles – matching other Changan EVs.
Market Positioning
The E06 slots beneath the recently launched Changan Deepal S07 and the upcoming Deepal S05 in the company’s UK lineup.
Changan hasn’t announced pricing yet. However, the company’s strategy with the S07 suggests an aggressive approach – expect the E06 to start under £30,000.
“The Changan E06 represents another important step in strengthening our presence in Europe. As the latest member of the Changan product portfolio, our new all-electric small SUV underscores our commitment to providing accessible and innovative mobility for everyday needs.”
Ethan Yin, executive deputy general manager of Changan Europe, emphasizes the model’s role in the company’s European expansion.
The timing puts Changan’s entry into a rapidly growing segment. Both the Elroq and EV3 have gained traction since their launches, while traditional manufacturers continue expanding their electric SUV ranges.
UK customers will get their first chance to evaluate the E06 against established competitors in early 2027.
