Chinese automotive brand Aion has opened eight UK dealerships as it launches in Britain with its debut vehicle – the all-electric V SUV.

The newcomer plans to open 15 sites by June 2026, then double that to 30 by year’s end. Each location will feature showrooms alongside service and parts facilities.

Aion dealerships are now operating in Beverley, Leeds, Newcastle, Newton Abbot, Shrewsbury, Slough, Swansea, and Winchester. More sites are scheduled for later this year.

Founded in 2017 as an “upper-mainstream” brand by GAC – China’s fourth-largest carmaker – Aion UK operates as a joint venture between GAC and Jameel Motors.

Jameel Motors already manages the Farizon van dealer network across Britain.

Market Positioning and Pricing

The Aion V targets competitors like the Skoda Elroq, Geely EX5, and Renault Scenic. It’s priced from £36,450 and comes with Aion’s ‘Great 8’ promise.

That package includes eight years of warranty coverage, servicing, roadside assistance, and MOT testing.

The V features a 75.3kWh battery pack delivering up to 317 miles of range on a single charge. Maximum charging speed reaches 180kW – allowing 10% to 80% charging in 24 minutes.

Order books are now open with initial deliveries underway across the country.

“It’s a major milestone to see the first retailers go live, welcome customers and offer test drives,” said brand managing director Jon Wakefield after the first dealership opened. “We have a great car in the AION V, and more models will join it in the showrooms soon.”

“But for us, it’s not only about a great product, we’ve also focused on the quality of the purchase and ownership experience for customers, too.”

The Aion UT hatchback has been confirmed as the second model in the range and will launch later this year.
