Citroen has opened orders for its e-C3 Aircross Extended Range, bringing a 249-mile maximum range to the compact SUV. The French automaker announced pricing starting at £24,995 – a £1,900 premium over the Standard Range model.

The extended range variant is among the first vehicles approved for the government’s Electric Car Grant. That program reduces the price by £1,500.

With the grant applied, the entry-level e-C3 Aircross Extended Range Plus starts at £23,495. The higher-specification Max model costs £25,495 after the discount.

Market Positioning Against Vauxhall Competition

The launch follows closely behind the related Vauxhall Frontera Long Range. While the Vauxhall extracts an additional four miles from the same powertrain, Citroen undercuts it by £3,000 before incentives.

The Extended Range model uses a 54kWh battery pack instead of the standard car’s 44kWh unit. That upgrade delivers a 61-mile range boost but represents the only change from the regular version.

Both variants share the same 111bhp motor and 100kW peak DC charging capability. Charging from 20-80% takes 28 minutes using fast charging.

Standard Equipment and Trim Levels

Like the Standard Range car, the extended range version comes in Plus and Max configurations. All models include 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and Citroen’s Advanced Comfort seats and suspension technology.

Standard equipment includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Additional standard features cover a reversing camera, automatic lights and wipers, and follow-me-home lighting.

Max specification adds heated seats and steering wheel, wireless phone charging, and front and side parking sensors. Blind spot monitoring comes standard on Max trim.

The Max grade also includes integrated fog lights, LED tail lights, and a contrast roof available in black or white.

Segment Competition and Space Claims

The e-C3 Aircross competes in the expanding electric B-SUV segment. Citroen claims it offers class-leading rear passenger space and best-in-class boot capacity at 460 litres.

The all-electric model doesn’t offer the seven-seat configuration that’s available in the hybrid version.
