Citroen E-Dispatch: Standing Out in the Electric Van Market
Stellantis’s latest electric van offering comes in the form of the updated Citroen e-Dispatch — a vehicle that shares its core design with Vauxhall, Fiat, Peugeot, and Toyota variants. The refreshed model features a new front-end design and upgraded interior technology.
The e-Dispatch now comes equipped with a 75kWh battery pack, replacing the previous 50kWh option. This provides 68kWh of usable capacity and delivers a WLTP range of 194–230 miles.
Real-world testing with a 250kg load achieved 2.4 miles per kWh — translating to about 163 miles of range. The van supports 100kW DC rapid charging, allowing a 5-80% charge in 45 minutes.
Inside, a new 10-inch infotainment screen dominates the redesigned dashboard. The system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard features. Driver models add built-in navigation and Dynamic Surround View — a system combining digital rear-view mirror with side-camera feeds.
The 134bhp electric motor delivers 192lb ft of torque, providing quick initial acceleration that’s well-suited for urban deliveries. Three driving modes help manage power output and range.
Cargo capacity remains competitive:
- L1 model: 5.3m3 storage volume
- L2 model: 6.1m3 storage volume
- Payload capacity: up to 1,000kg
Both variants feature sliding doors on each side and rear barn doors as standard — offering more flexibility than some competitors’ single-side configurations.
Pricing starts at £41,210 plus VAT and OTR costs for the short-wheelbase Enterprise model. The longer XL variant adds £800, while the premium Driver specification costs an additional £2,675.
Standard equipment includes:
- 10-inch infotainment system
- Air conditioning
- Cruise control
- Rear parking sensors
The e-Dispatch’s offset driving position remains its main ergonomic challenge, with the pedals and steering wheel alignment making it difficult to find an ideal seating position despite adjustable controls.
While the electric variant commands a £14,000 premium over its diesel counterpart, lower operating costs and exemption from emissions-based charges can help offset this investment for high-mileage operators.
