Cupra will launch its new electric vehicle, the Raval, in early 2026 — pushing back from its original late 2024 release date.
The all-electric supermini will be manufactured at Seat/Cupra’s Martorell factory near Barcelona. The facility is undergoing redevelopment to produce Volkswagen Group’s urban electric cars.
The Raval shares its platform with the Volkswagen ID.2 and Skoda Epiq compact crossover. These models will serve as electric alternatives to the current Ibiza and Polo models.
Pre-production units will start rolling off the assembly line in late 2024.
The Raval’s technical specifications include:
- 223bhp front-mounted motor
- 0-62mph acceleration in 6.9 seconds
- Multiple battery options
- Long-range version capable of 273 miles
The vehicle uses VW Group’s MEB Entry platform. While official pricing hasn’t been announced, industry analysts expect the Raval to start around £25,000 — positioning it against the Renault 5 and Mini Cooper SE.
Cupra and Seat are expanding their charging infrastructure. The companies will:
- Double charging points at their facilities to over 250 by Q1 2025
- Triple the charging network around the Martorell factory to 140 points
All charging stations will operate on renewable energy.
