Skoda has revealed that its upcoming seven-seat electric SUV will be named the Skoda Peaq.

The all-electric equivalent to the gas-powered Kodiaq will make its global debut in summer 2026. Launch is expected in late 2026 or early 2027.

The Peaq builds on Skoda’s Vision 7S concept car from 2022. That concept introduced the brand’s “Modern Solid” design language for the first time.

Since then, the Czech brand has launched the Elroq and updated Enyaq using the same design approach. It’s also revealed the Epiq and several design studies.

Martin Jahn, Skoda’s sales and marketing boss, said the new model represents a major step forward for the brand.

“With the Vision 7S, we entered new territory for Skoda, with a clear idea of how to elevate the brand. Since then, we have introduced a new design language and further refined our product identity. Now we are bringing this innovative vehicle concept to life.”

He called the Peaq a flagship that takes Skoda’s brand values “to a whole new level.”

“Our new flagship model takes our brand values of spaciousness and practicality to a whole new level. As of today, our bold vision for Skoda’s electric future has a name: Peaq – a clear statement of where this model belongs in our portfolio.”

Positioning and Competition

The Peaq will serve as Skoda’s flagship model. It’s expected to be the brand’s largest and most expensive car to date.

The seven-seater will compete with several established models:

  • £48,500 Peugeot E-5008
  • £50,000 Mercedes GLB
  • Kia EV9
  • Hyundai Ioniq 9

Skoda shared the first teaser images in 2025, showing clear connections to the Vision 7S concept.

The design features an upright grille that echoes the “Tech Deck” face of the Elroq and Epiq. Headlights are pushed to the vehicle’s outer edges. The rear includes slim LED lights in a traditional upright tailgate.

Technical Specifications

Skoda hasn’t released technical details yet. However, the Peaq is expected to use the same MEB platform that powers the Elroq, Enyaq and other models like the VW ID Buzz.

This platform typically allows for both two- and four-wheel-drive variants with up to 335 horsepower. Battery options could reach up to 85kWh.

Skoda says the Peaq will continue delivering the qualities the brand is known for – space, value and clever practical features.

The production version is unlikely to include the concept’s dramatic carriage doors, which would be impractical for everyday use.
