Lexus has confirmed UK pricing for its new ES electric saloon, with order books opening May 1, 2026, starting from £59,345.
The eighth-generation ES will arrive in the UK as an electric-only model – a significant departure from other European markets where Lexus is offering a 199bhp hybrid powertrain. UK buyers get just the fully electric option as the luxury brand targets rivals like the Audi A6 e-tron and BMW i5.
This EV-only approach for Britain stems from higher electric vehicle adoption rates compared to mainland Europe.
Single Electric Variant at Launch
The UK receives one ES variant initially – the 350e. Its front-mounted electric motor produces 221bhp and delivers 0-62mph acceleration in 8.2 seconds.
Built on Lexus’ reinforced GA-K modular platform, the ES 350e packs a 77kWh lithium-ion battery. DC fast charging peaks at 150kW, enabling 10%-80% charging in just 28 minutes.
Range figures remain unofficial, but Lexus expects around 329 miles on a single charge.
Three Trim Levels Available
UK specification breaks down across three grades:
- Premium – £59,345
- Premium Plus – £68,245
- Takumi – £72,545
The ES cabin represents a dramatic shift from the current model’s button-heavy layout. All versions include a 12.3-inch digital driver display alongside a 14-inch central infotainment screen.
Physical controls largely disappear in favor of ‘Hidden Touch Switches’ – haptic buttons integrated behind the dashboard upholstery that illuminate when the vehicle starts.
Standard equipment across the range includes a heated steering wheel with Lexus lettering, regenerative braking paddles, front and rear USB-C ports, wireless charging pad, and 10-speaker audio system.
Premium Plus Upgrades
Mid-tier Premium Plus models add cornering lamps, electronic rear-view mirror, and semi-aniline leather seats. The equipment list expands with Mark Levinson audio, head-up display, dual wireless charging pads, and bamboo-effect door trim.
Easy-close doors complete the Premium Plus package.
Range-Topping Takumi Features
The flagship Takumi introduces heated, ventilated rear seats with reclining function and ottoman-style leg rests. Rear passengers control seating and climate through a dedicated console panel.
Rear windows feature integrated sunshades, while distinctive 21-inch alloy/resin aero wheels distinguish the Takumi from lower grades.
UK deliveries begin in June 2026. A more powerful twin-motor ES 500e with 338bhp will launch across Europe initially, with UK availability expected to follow later.
The ES marks Lexus’ continued push into the premium EV segment as traditional luxury brands compete for market share in Britain’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle market.
