Chinese electric van manufacturer Farizon has unveiled two new variants of its SV model at the Hong Kong Auto Expo, with the company hinting at potential UK availability for both vehicles.

The SV Taxi and SV Combi demonstrate the adaptability of Farizon’s GXA-M platform. Both models are currently exclusive to the Chinese market, but the manufacturer is evaluating their viability in international markets.

Farizon has already secured a significant order from Hong Kong taxi operator Big Bee for 1,000 units of the Taxi variant.

SV Taxi Targets Passenger Transport

The SV Taxi functions as a seven-seat MPV designed for commercial passenger service. The vehicle prioritizes passenger comfort with three rows of seating, each equipped with charging ports, cupholders and storage compartments.

A central walkthrough aisle in the second row provides easy access to the third row. The taxi maintains a 630-liter boot space despite accommodating seven passengers.

SV Combi Balances Passengers and Cargo

The SV Combi targets operators requiring both passenger capacity and substantial cargo space. Unlike the standard SV’s three-person limit, the Combi accommodates five or six passengers in its front two rows while maintaining a large rear cargo area.

Farizon offers the Combi in two body lengths. The L1 variant measures 5 meters and provides up to 3.8 cubic meters of load space behind the seats.

The L2 extends to 5.5 meters and increases cargo capacity to 5 cubic meters.

Performance Specifications

Both variants likely use the same 228bhp electric motor found in the current SV lineup. Farizon claims the Taxi achieves up to 370km of range, while the Combi manages 319km.

The vehicles support 20%-80% charging in 30 minutes, suggesting they use the same 106kWh NCM battery pack as top-specification UK SV models.

Farizon launched the standard SV in the UK earlier this year. The company hasn’t provided a timeline for potential UK introduction of the new variants.
