Fiat has launched orders for its new Grande Panda electric supermini, with the company offering a £1,500 discount to bring the starting price below £20,000. The retro-inspired model will arrive at UK dealerships next month alongside a nationwide preview tour.

The electric version starts at £21,035 before Fiat’s “E-Grant” reduces the price to £19,535.

Built on the same Smart Car platform as the Citroen E-C3, the Grande Panda delivers up to 199 miles of range from its 44kWh battery pack. The 111bhp motor provides city-focused performance that matches the car’s budget positioning.

Fiat is offering the discount because none of its current models qualify for the government’s Electric Car Grant program.

Two Electric Trim Levels Available

The base RED trim includes 16-inch white steel wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Android and Apple mirroring, cruise control and reversing sensors.

La Prima specification, priced at just under £24,000 before the E-Grant, adds 17-inch alloys, heated seats, automatic air conditioning, built-in navigation and front parking sensors.

Both variants come as five-door hatchbacks with SUV-inspired styling cues that echo the original Panda Sisley 4×4 from the 1980s.

The design team in Turin incorporated pixel-style LED lights and embossed Panda lettering on the doors. These modern touches reference the beloved original Panda while updating the look for today’s market.

Preview Tour Begins September

Giuseppe Cava, managing director of Fiat UK, said customer response has exceeded expectations ahead of the September 4 showroom arrival.

“The response to the car has been incredible so far and we are very proud that it has been recognised with so many awards,” Cava said. “The several thousand registrations of interest on our website suggest that Grande Panda has already struck a chord with UK drivers.”

Fiat’s preview tour runs from September 4 through October 10, offering customers one-to-one vehicle demonstrations at dealerships nationwide.

The company reports “unprecedented” interest levels for its smallest EV model, which also comes in hybrid variants for buyers not ready for full electric driving.

The Grande Panda represents Fiat’s push into the affordable electric market, competing directly with other budget-focused EVs that offer urban mobility without premium pricing.
