Skoda has revealed the first images and details of its upcoming Peaq, a fully-electric seven-seat SUV that will become the Czech brand’s biggest and most expensive model when it launches in mid-2026.
The camouflaged prototype showcases a close connection to Skoda’s Vision 7S concept from 2022. The Peaq will serve as an electric equivalent to the current flagship Kodiaq, offering more than 370 miles of range alongside Skoda’s signature practicality.
Three Powertrain Options Available
From launch, buyers can choose from three variants – the 60, 90, and 90x models.
Power output ranges from 201bhp in entry-level models to 295bhp in the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive 90x variant. The flagship 90x accelerates from standstill to 62mph in 6.7 seconds while matching the single-motor 90’s range of 372 miles from an 86kWh battery.
Both 90 models support peak DC charging of 195kW, allowing 10-80% charging in just 28 minutes. The 60 model uses a smaller 59kWh battery that charges slightly faster at 27 minutes despite slower charging speeds.
Pricing and Competition
While Skoda hasn’t confirmed pricing, the Peaq is expected to compete directly with the Peugeot E-5008, which starts around £46,000 and tops out just over £52,000.
Higher-spec variants could challenge the £65,000 Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9 in the premium seven-seat EV market.
Size and Space
At 4.9 meters long, the Peaq stretches almost 15cm longer than the existing Kodiaq. The nearly three-meter wheelbase helps accommodate seating for seven adults and up to 890 liters of boot space when configured for five passengers.
Skoda promises comfort across all three rows with generous legroom and headroom throughout the cabin.
The optional Relax Package adds massage seats with electrically adjustable leg rests, front pillows, and a foldable table. It also includes a new sound system developed with audio specialists Sonos.
Interior Options and Technology
Five interior designs will be available – Sportline, Suite, Loft, and Lodge. Each features unique upholstery ranging from fabric to synthetic leather or suede.
The Peaq comes with Skoda’s largest panoramic sunroof yet, featuring electrochromatic zonal dimming technology. A 13.6-inch vertical touchscreen runs the latest Android-based operating system.
The Sportline variant gets a dark-themed interior, sports seats, gloss black exterior trim, and unique alloy wheels. It includes adaptive Matrix LED lights and an illuminated TechDeck Face as standard equipment.
“The Skoda Peaq is designed for real life – for families who need space, for drivers who want confidence on long journeys, and for anyone who values modern style without compromise,”
said Klaus Zellmer, Skoda CEO.
“Peaq brings a new sense of scale, smart functionality, and progressive design to the large electric SUV segment, setting a benchmark for what a modern Skoda can be.”
