Dutch EV start-up Flynt has unveiled its first electric van, targeting a 2026 European launch despite having no manufacturing facilities of its own.

The company describes itself as an “asset-light OEM” that will partner with China’s MiracoMotor to develop and manufacture its vehicles in China while incorporating European customer requirements.

“We’re not a carmaker in the traditional sense,” said Dr. Daniel Kirchert, founder of Flynt. “We’ve built a smarter, more flexible model – one that puts customer needs first, and uses the best global technology to deliver world-class electric vans faster and more cost-effectively than legacy players ever could.”

Flynt’s debut vehicle is a large electric van designed to compete with the Ford E-Transit and Renault Master E-Tech.

The 3.5-tonne electric light commercial vehicle will feature 800V architecture and offer up to 310 miles of range from a 100kWh battery, with 220kW DC charging capabilities – specifications that would surpass current market competitors.

While motor details remain undisclosed, the van will be available with front-wheel-drive, rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options.

It will provide up to 16.5m³ of cargo space with a 1,630kg payload capacity.

Pricing information has not yet been announced.

According to Flynt, its business model combines European market expertise with China’s rapid EV development and manufacturing capabilities.

Laura Peschke, co-founder of Flynt, said: “We’ve spent the last 18 months in constant dialogue with customers across Europe – from logistics to construction to service fleets.

“This vehicle is the result of that ongoing co-creation process. It reflects real needs, not assumptions. Being close to the customer isn’t just a strategy for us – it’s who we are.”

A prototype was shown in China earlier this year and will arrive in Europe this summer for testing and promotional activities.

The company plans to launch initially in select European markets in 2026 before expanding across 26 target markets in the region.

Flynt has already secured its first distribution agreements and is currently in discussions to establish what it calls a “robust partner network.” The company intends to implement a digital-first approach to marketing, sales and service.
