Ford Ireland has partnered with ChargeGuru to offer free home wallbox chargers and installation to new EV buyers through the company’s Power Promise program.

The promotion covers Ford’s complete all-electric passenger lineup – including the Puma Gen-E, Explorer, Capri and Mustang Mach-E. Each purchase includes standard installation of a Sync Energy charger at no cost.

Customers can upgrade to the Hypervolt charger for an additional fee.

The Republic of Ireland rollout follows Ford’s launch of a similar program in Northern Ireland, where drivers pay just £10 for home charger installation. Ford says the initiative aims to “encourage drivers to switch to electric by removing common adoption barriers and making EV ownership more affordable than ever.”

“As a leading provider of electric vehicle charging solutions throughout Europe, ChargeGuru is on a mission to make EV charging simple for everyone,” said Denis Watling, UK managing director at ChargeGuru UK and Ireland.

Watling noted that ChargeGuru has already installed hundreds of chargers for Ford’s commercial customers through its existing Ford Pro partnership.

“Expanding our partnership with Ford to enable their private customers throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland to charge their electric Fords was a logical & exciting next step.”

How to Access the Offer

Irish customers must contact their local Ford dealer, who submits the request to ChargeGuru directly. Buyers also need to apply for the SEAI Home Charger Grant before installation work begins.

The timing aligns with Ford’s broader electrification strategy – the automaker is targeting 100% all-electric vehicle sales by 2035.

The ChargeGuru partnership builds on Ford’s existing commercial vehicle charging infrastructure, now extending those benefits to private EV buyers across both Irish markets. Standard installations include the basic wallbox setup, though specific charging speeds and compatibility details weren’t disclosed in the announcement.
