Ford Pro’s new E-Transit vans now include ‘Delivery Assist’ technology to help delivery drivers work more efficiently.

The system automates routine tasks drivers perform at each stop. When making a delivery, Delivery Assist automatically shuts off the motor, closes windows, locks doors and turns on hazard lights.

These automated functions save seconds per stop — time that adds up across multiple urban deliveries throughout the day.

“Delivery Assist makes the driver’s to-do list shorter, their journeys more comfortable, and can cut up to 20 seconds from each delivery stop to help them deliver more parcels, faster,” said Hans Schep, general manager of Ford Pro Europe.

The technology enhances security by ensuring the van is locked at every stop. It also reduces the mental load on drivers, letting them focus on deliveries rather than vehicle tasks.

Drivers can customize the system’s window, hazard light and locking features to match their preferences. When returning to the vehicle, they simply unlock it using keyless entry. The motor automatically restarts and windows return to their previous positions once the brake pedal is pressed.

“It’s good for both our customers and their customers – by taking away lots of tiny tasks we are helping to make a big difference,” Schep added.

The technology is available now for new E-Transit orders. Ford Pro will expand Delivery Assist to E-Transit Custom vans in summer 2025.
