Genesis announced plans to enter four new European markets as the premium electric brand expands its continental footprint. The company will establish operations in France, Italy, Spain and The Netherlands over the next 12 months.
The brand currently sells vehicles in the UK, Germany and Switzerland. This expansion marks its largest European growth initiative since launching on the continent in 2021.
"Our entry into these important markets is a pivotal moment for Genesis," said Xavier Martinet, the brand’s European managing director.
“We are moving now to deepen our long-term presence and commitment across Europe. This is the most significant market expansion since we launched in Europe in 2021 and is the start of our next phase of measured, strategic growth, and sporting brand direction.”
All-Electric Strategy
Genesis will launch as an electric-only brand in all four territories. This mirrors the company’s approach in the UK, where it stopped selling petrol and diesel models.
The lineup includes three updated EVs – the GV70 SUV, the smaller GV60 crossover and the flagship G80 saloon.
Deliveries start in early 2026 across the new markets.
Martinet noted growing demand for the brand’s electric vehicles. "Our distinctive electric models have strong European appeal and the demand is growing," he said.
Racing Influence
The expansion announcement came during the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Genesis’s Magma racing team competed for the first time. The team prepares for full entry into the 2026 WEC calendar with the GMR-001 Hypercar.
The racing program connects to upcoming performance models.
Genesis expects to launch its first roadgoing Magma product later this year. The GV60 Magma uses technology from parent company Hyundai to create a more powerful version of the existing GV60.
Full specifications aren’t finalized, but the performance model should produce over 600 horsepower from a twin-motor setup. Early images show a lower, wider stance than the standard car with significant aerodynamic additions.
The expansion represents Genesis’s commitment to building its European presence through electric vehicles and motorsport connections. Four new markets will more than double the brand’s European footprint as it transitions away from combustion engines.
