Hyundai revealed the first images of its Ioniq 6 N performance model, setting up a global debut at next month’s 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.
The all-electric fastback joins the Ioniq 5 N SUV in Hyundai’s high-performance N lineup. The Korean automaker released preview shots of the car based on the regular Ioniq 6 streamliner.
Aerodynamic Upgrades Take Center Stage
The images show a wider track hidden beneath flared wheel arches – a clear departure from the standard model’s sleeker profile.
A substantial rear wing replaces the regular Ioniq 6’s small ducktail spoiler. The wing juts out prominently from the car’s sloping tailgate.
Hyundai says the massive wing and substantial aerodynamic enhancements will provide high-speed stability for the performance sedan. Lightweight wheels fill those widened arches.
The company says the 6 N will deliver enhancements embodying N’s three performance pillars: “Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability and Everyday Sports Car.”
That marketing language aside, the N Division’s recent track record with the 5 N, i30 N and i20 N suggests strong results ahead.
Powertrain Details Point to Ioniq 5 N Connection
Hyundai hasn’t confirmed the Ioniq 6 N’s powertrain specifications. The setup will likely match the Ioniq 5 N’s configuration.
That means 641 horsepower, 546 lb-ft of torque and an 84kWh battery pack.
Performance figures should track closely – expect a 0-62 mph time around 3.5 seconds and a top speed near 160 mph. The car will likely include synthesized engine sounds and simulated gear shifts.
“Ioniq 6 N will once again disrupt the high-performance EV segment to deliver exciting driving experiences to our fans,” said Joon Park, vice president and Head of N Management Group. “We chose to debut the Ioniq 6 N at Goodwood Festival of Speed to be as close to our fans as possible.”
The Festival of Speed runs July 10-13. Full specifications and details will be announced during the car’s official debut.
