InstaVolt has expanded its off-peak charging hours, now offering EV drivers cheaper rates from 9pm to 7am daily across its network.

The charging provider’s off-peak rate of 54p/kWh — about one-third less than its standard 85p/kWh fee — is now available for an additional two hours each day.

“We’re always listening to our customers, and they told us they wanted off-peak pricing to start earlier and finish later,” said Delvin Lane, InstaVolt CEO.

The discounted rate applies to all 1,600+ InstaVolt rapid and ultra-rapid chargers when using the company’s app.

“By extending our off-peak window, we’ve made it even easier for drivers to access cheaper charging, whether they’re finishing work, setting off early, or simply looking to cut costs,” Lane said.

InstaVolt continues expanding its charging network. Its largest super-hub to date will open near Winchester in March, featuring:

  • 44 ultra-rapid chargers
  • Dedicated bays for large vehicles and towing
  • On-site solar panels and battery storage
  • 24/7 café and toilets
  • Dog-walking area and children’s play park

The Winchester facility, situated near the A34 and M3, represents the growing trend in UK charging infrastructure development.

According to Zapmap, public charging devices increased 34% in 2024. Ultra-rapid charger installations grew 84%, while charging hubs — sites with six or more rapid or ultra-rapid chargers — doubled from 264 to 537.

“We hope that by making public charging as affordable and accessible as possible it will encourage more drivers to make the switch to electric,” Lane added.
