KGM Musso EV Price Revealed Before Spring 2024 Launch

KGM Musso EV Price Revealed Before Spring 2024 Launch image

KGM confirmed the Musso EV will launch in May as Britain’s most affordable all-electric pick-up truck, priced from £42,495 after government incentives.

The electric pickup shares its name with KGM’s diesel pickup but uses the electric platform from the Torres EVX SUV. The Korean manufacturer says it’s designed to deliver pickup strength with SUV comfort.

The Musso EV comes with all-wheel-drive standard – something the Torres EVX doesn’t offer.

Twin electric motors produce 204 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. KGM says this setup provides serious towing and hauling capability for work applications.

The truck can tow up to 2,300kg and carry 690kg of payload. That’s more pulling power than Toyota’s upcoming Hilux BEV, though the load capacity falls short. The Isuzu D-Max EV beats both figures when it arrives.

Range and Charging

Where the Musso EV excels is driving range – its 80.6kWh battery pack delivers up to 240 miles on a charge.

That’s substantially more than either upcoming rival. DC fast charging peaks at 120kW, allowing 20-80% charging in 31 minutes at compatible stations.

The £42,495 price includes VAT and the £2,500 Plug-in Van Grant. Both the D-Max and Hilux BEV are expected to cost around £60,000 when they launch later this year.

Standard Features

Every Musso EV gets self-levelling suspension and vehicle-to-load capability – letting drivers power tools and appliances directly from the truck’s battery.

Inside, twin 12.3-inch screens handle instruments and infotainment. Heated and cooled seats come standard across the range.

“The launch of Musso EV represents a major step forward for KGM in the UK, setting new standards for capability and innovation in the pickup market,” said Kevin Griffin, managing director of KGM Motors UK.

Griffin noted the combination of electric range, towing capacity, and convenience features creates a compelling alternative to diesel for both fleet and private buyers.

The Musso EV arrives as electric pickup options remain limited in the UK market – giving KGM a significant pricing advantage over established competitors.
