Kia has revealed pricing and specifications for its new PV5 electric van, offering both commercial and passenger variants.
The PV5 will launch with Cargo and Passenger models, with crew cab, chassis cab and wheelchair accessible versions coming later.
The PV5 Cargo starts at £27,645 before VAT and qualifies for the full £5,000 plug-in van grant reduction. The Passenger version begins at £32,995.
Orders open May 1 with first deliveries expected in late 2025.
Initially, PV5 Cargo and Crew models will only be available in L2/H1 format. L1/H1 and L2/H2 Cargo versions will follow in 2026.
All PV5 Passenger models will use the L2/H1 platform. The five-seat version offers up to 1,320 litres of space behind the rear seats, with a seven-seater joining the lineup in 2026.
Both commercial and passenger versions come with two powertrain options. Entry models feature a 51.5kWh battery with a 120bhp motor driving the front wheels. In the Cargo L2/H1, this provides 181 miles of range with a 790kg maximum payload.
The long-range 71.2kWh battery – starting at £30,145 +VAT – increases range to 247 miles and comes with a more powerful 161bhp motor, though payload decreases to 690kg due to the heavier battery.
All L2/H1 versions offer 4.4m3 of cargo space.
The PV5’s specifications position it between the Ford E-Transit Custom and the smaller E-Transit Courier, with pricing directly competing against Ford’s compact model.
In the Passenger variant, the two battery options deliver ranges of 179 and 249 miles respectively. Kia states both batteries can charge from 10-80% in under 30 minutes when connected to a 150kW charger.
The PV5 lineup comes in two trim levels – Essential and Plus.
Standard equipment includes 16-inch steel wheels, LED lights, front and rear parking sensors with reversing camera, a 12.9-inch touchscreen with wireless phone mirroring, 7.5-inch digital instruments and automatic air conditioning. Cargo models get one sliding side door while Passenger variants have two.
Plus specification adds heated front seats and steering wheel, wireless phone charging, power folding mirrors, vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-X capabilities, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot collision avoidance and safe exit warning. Passenger versions in Plus trim also receive a powered tailgate, electrically adjustable front seats and 16-inch alloy wheels.
Cargo models offer both powertrain options in either trim, while the PV5 Passenger Plus will only be available with the larger battery and more powerful motor. Pricing for the latter remains unconfirmed.
The five-seat PV5 Crew, arriving later this year, will only come in L2/H1 form with the 51.5kWh battery offering up to 174 miles range. It features 605kg payload capacity and 2.4-3.7m3 of cargo space, depending on the rear bench position, which incorporates the bulkhead.
The Chassis Cab will be offered exclusively in L2 configuration but with both battery options, delivering either 155 or 217 miles of range. The long-range battery version provides a 995kg payload rating.
