Leapmotor has confirmed its B03X compact SUV will arrive in the UK next year, with the Chinese automaker targeting a 250-mile range and pricing in the mid-£20,000s.

The crossover debuted at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China as the A10. It’ll be sold as the B03X in the UK and Europe, where it’s positioned to compete with the Renault 4, BYD Atto 2 and Ford Puma Gen-E.

Targeting Premium Features at Lower Prices

Leapmotor markets the B03X as a “smart premium long-range SUV” that addresses what the company calls the industry’s three key challenges – that premium vehicles must be expensive, small cars can’t be high-tech, and compact size means limited interior space.

The B03X measures 4.2 meters long, slightly longer than the R4 but with a similar 2.6-meter wheelbase. That should provide adequate space for four passengers.

It features a boxy design similar to the Renault or BYD models, with what Leapmotor calls a “smile motif” light signature. Interior images haven’t been released yet, but expect a minimalist, screen-focused layout similar to the larger B10 that recently launched in the UK.

Range and Performance Details

Technical specifications remain limited, but Leapmotor claims the B03X will deliver class-leading range. The LFP battery reportedly achieves up to 311 miles on China’s CLTC test cycle.

Under the stricter WLTP testing used in Europe, expect somewhere between 225-250 miles of real-world range.

While not confirmed, the B03X will likely use the same 215bhp motor as the B10 since both vehicles share the same underlying architecture.

Target Market and Features

Leapmotor says the B03X targets customers seeking an “affordable but premium” commuting vehicle, as well as drivers making the switch from traditional combustion engine compact cars.

Standard equipment will include:

  • AI-powered infotainment system
  • Advanced driver assistance features
  • 18-inch alloy wheels
  • Semi-hidden door handles
  • “Floating roof” design with panoramic sunroof

The company hints that B03X pricing will undercut the B10, which currently starts at £29,995. A starting price around £25,000 seems likely when it goes on sale in the second half of 2026 – positioning it competitively against established rivals in the compact EV segment.

That timeline puts the B03X’s UK launch roughly 18 months away, giving Leapmotor time to establish its dealer network and build brand recognition through the larger B10 model.
