Leapmotor announced plans to debut its most powerful vehicle yet at the Zurich motor show – an all-wheel drive C10 SUV packing 593 horsepower.
The twin-motor setup delivers serious performance credentials. The C10 AWD hits 0-62mph in just four seconds, putting it right alongside the BMW iX M70 xDrive, which manages 3.8 seconds with its 670hp output.
But it’s not just about speed.
Leapmotor equipped the AWD model with new 800V charging architecture. This means drivers can charge from 30% to 80% in 22 minutes – a significant improvement over the standard model.
The performance variant gets an upgraded 81.9kWh LFP battery, up from the 69.9kWh unit in the rear-wheel drive version. While Leapmotor hasn’t released official range figures yet, the single-motor C10 currently delivers 269 miles per charge.
UK Availability and Pricing
UK buyers won’t get access to the high-performance variant. A Leapmotor spokesperson confirmed the C10 AWD won’t make it to British showrooms.
The standard C10 launched earlier this year as Leapmotor’s answer to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Skoda Enyaq. It earned praise for sharp styling and generous equipment at under £40,000.
With government EV grants under review, Leapmotor introduced its own “Leap-Grant” program.
The initiative cuts £3,750 from the C10’s price, bringing it down to £32,750. The compact T03 city car gets a £1,500 discount, making it available for £14,495 – officially the UK’s cheapest new EV.
European Expansion
Stellantis acquired a 21% stake in the Chinese automaker in 2023. The partnership launched Leapmotor International, which began European sales in 2024.
Early 2025 saw the first UK showroom opening. Leapmotor aims to establish 80 retail locations across Britain by year’s end – an ambitious timeline for a brand just entering the market.
The C10 and T03 both feature on lists of best EVs under £37,000, positioning Leapmotor as a value-focused alternative in an increasingly competitive market.
