Mercedes has updated its eVito panel van with a larger 90kWh battery, boosting its WLTP range to 298 miles.

The new battery pack replaces the previous 60kWh unit and can be paired with either a 114bhp motor or a more powerful 201bhp option borrowed from the eVito passenger van. The higher-output motor delivers 269lb ft of torque.

The updated eVito can charge from 10%-80% in just 40 minutes with a maximum charging rate of 110kW. Pricing starts at approximately £38,500 (€46,000) for the 5.2m-long variant, with the extra-long 5.3m option commanding a premium.

Klaus Rehgkuyler, Mercedes-Benz Vans’ head of sales and marketing said: “With the new variants of the eVito panel van, we are expanding the fields of application for commercial electromobility and ensuring that locally CO₂-emission-free mobility is even more suitable for everyday use.”

Standard equipment is comprehensive across the range. Each van comes with Mercedes’ MBUX multimedia system on a 10.25-inch central screen, a 5.5-inch digital driver display, and keyless start. Safety features include rain-activated wipers and a driver assistance package with active braking, active headlamps, and lane assist.

The eVito qualifies for the UK government’s Plug-in Van Grant (PIVG), offering buyers a potential £5,000 reduction from the starting price.

This electric van represents another step in Mercedes’ commercial vehicle electrification strategy. The company began production of its all-electric eActross 600 long-haul HGV in late 2024.

Mercedes has included the Vito in its commercial lineup since 1996, with the electric eVito introduced in 2018 as part of the third-generation model. The company’s electric commercial range also includes the eCitan and eSprinter vans.

Mercedes is currently offering discounts between £4,800 and £7,200 across its van range.
