MFG will expand its London EV charging network by 30% this year to meet growing customer demand. The charge point operator currently operates approximately 150 London charging sites.
The company’s recent investment will add seven ultra-rapid charging hubs equipped with 300kW-400kW chargers to its network. MFG will also expand three existing sites within its regular charging networks – supporting London’s zero-carbon by 2030 drive.
MFG’s new London charging hubs will feature an average of seven bays each. All locations come fitted with ultra-fast chargers designed to meet rising demand in the capital.
EV adoption across London has surged to 4,550 vehicles as of March 2025. That’s a 50% year-on-year increase.
“London is a key focus for our EV charging infrastructure investment, as we continue to see high demand for reliable, high-speed charging across the UK but particularly in the capital,” said Martin Symes, MFG’s EV director.
He added that the expansion ensures EV drivers have access to ultra-rapid facilities they need. The goal is making EV ownership more convenient and accessible.
Morrisons Forecourt Acquisition
MFG has acquired 337 Morrisons supermarket forecourts nationwide. Five of these will be added to its London network.
MFG’s current Morrisons sites within the city are located in Hatch End and Palmers Green. Additional Morrisons forecourts will open in Borehamwood, Stratford, and Queensbury later this year.
By the end of 2025, MFG will have installed charging facilities at 300 Morrisons sites across the country.
Earlier in 2025, MFG opened non-Morrisons charging forecourts in St. Paul’s Cray, Bush Hill, Leyton, and Ilford. Another location will open in Sunbury on Thames before year’s end.
This expansion forms part of MFG’s £400m investment into EV charging network infrastructure by 2030. The company has already installed around 1,000 ultra-rapid chargers across 200 UK locations.
This year alone, MFG has spent approximately £170m upgrading its forecourt network.
