MG has launched the new MGS6 electric SUV starting at £37,995, targeting the competitive family SUV market dominated by Skoda, Tesla and Ford.
The MGS6 serves as the larger sibling to MG’s existing MGS5. It’s designed to bring the brand’s reputation for long-range capability and value pricing to the C-SUV segment.
MG positions the MGS6 directly against established competitors including the Skoda Enyaq, Leapmotor C10, Citroen E-C5 Aircross and Ford Explorer.
Range and Performance Specifications
All MGS6 variants use the same 77kWh battery pack, delivering up to 329 miles of range on a single charge.
The rear-wheel-drive Long Range models feature a 241bhp motor. Both the entry-level SE and mid-tier Trophy trim levels achieve that maximum 329-mile range figure.
MG also offers a Trophy Dual Motor version that adds a front axle motor. This configuration produces 357bhp total system power and accelerates from 0-62mph in just 5.1 seconds.
The performance variant competes directly with the £52,000 Skoda Enyaq vRS. However, the additional motor and weight reduce the Dual Motor’s range to 301 miles.
Every MGS6 supports 144kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10-80% in 38 minutes.
Interior Features and Technology
MG says it’s focused on improving interior quality compared to previous models. The cabin features soft-touch finishes, hidden air vents, and physical controls for climate and media functions.
Standard equipment across all trim levels includes a 10.25-inch driver display and 12.8-inch central touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
Heated front seats come standard on every model. MG has also included an active grille shutter system to improve aerodynamics and efficiency.
The base SE trim rides on 19-inch alloy wheels. Trophy models upgrade to 20-inch wheels and add several premium features.
Trim Level Pricing
The Trophy Long Range starts at £40,995, while the range-topping Trophy Dual Motor carries a £43,995 price tag.
Trophy variants include ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, head-up display, and an 11-speaker audio system. They also offer upgraded faux leather upholstery options.
The head-up display shows vehicle information, safety alerts, and navigation guidance directly in the driver’s line of sight.
Orders for the MGS6 are now open, with first deliveries expected in the coming months.
