Mini has reduced prices across its electric vehicle lineup, cutting the Cooper E hatchback by more than £3,000, the Aceman crossover by £2,800, and the Countryman SUV by over £9,000.

The Cooper E now starts at £26,895, positioning it among the UK’s most affordable electric vehicles. With its 181bhp motor and 36.6kWh battery providing 185 miles of range, the entry-level Cooper E now competes directly with the BYD Dolphin, Vauxhall Corsa and MG4.

While the Fiat 500e remains cheaper, it offers less range and interior space.

The more powerful Cooper SE has seen its starting price drop to £29,995 – lower than the previous entry point for the entire Mini electric range.

The Countryman has received the most significant price reduction. The family SUV now starts at £33,005, down from £42,200. This price gets buyers the Countryman C in ‘Classic’ trim with a 168bhp motor and 64.4kWh battery capable of 286 miles.

Higher-specification models have also become more affordable, with the all-wheel-drive Countryman S All4 now starting at £39,005 with its 309bhp powertrain.

The Aceman, which bridges the gap between the Cooper and Countryman, now starts at £28,995 for the Aceman E Classic. This reduction comes before the first customer deliveries have even taken place.

The price cut positions the Aceman below competitors like the Smart #1, Volvo EX30 and Kia EV3.

Price reductions apply across all Aceman variants, with the more powerful Aceman SE starting at £31,905 and the range-topping John Cooper Works Aceman priced from £36,905.

Mini isn’t alone in adjusting its pricing strategy. Fiat/Abarth, Citroen and Volkswagen have made similar moves in recent months as manufacturers try to attract more buyers to electric vehicles.

While EV sales continue to grow against market trends, manufacturers are concerned about meeting ZEV mandate targets. By the end of 2025, 28% of all new car sales must be zero emission – in February, EVs accounted for 25% of the market.
