Kia expanded its Electric Car Grant lineup today, announcing three models now qualify for the UK Government’s £1,500 rebate. The EV3 Air, EV3 GT-Line, and newly introduced EV4 Motion join the automaker’s ECG-eligible vehicles.

The EV3 Air starts at £31,555 after the discount. That’s for the Standard Range model with 270 miles of driving range.

Buyers who need more range can opt for the Long Range version. It packs an 81.4kWh battery and delivers 365 miles between charges – priced from £34,555 with the grant applied.

The mid-tier EV3 GT-Line comes exclusively with the larger battery pack. After the £1,500 reduction, it’s priced from £37,995.

Kia’s compact sedan offering also benefits from the price cut. The EV4 competes directly with the VW ID.3 and MG4 in the mainstream EV market.

Air-spec EV4 models with the 58.3kWh battery now cost £33,245. The larger 81.4kWh version starts at £34,495 after the grant.

Range varies significantly between battery options. The smaller pack delivers 273 miles, while the larger setup achieves 388 miles on a full charge.

New Motion Trim Targets Value Buyers

Kia introduced the EV4 Motion as a new trim level that qualifies for ECG funding. It slots between the GT-Line and range-topping GT-Line S variants.

The Motion comes well-equipped from the factory. Standard features include an eight-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system and bi-material vegan leather upholstery.

Comfort features are extensive:

  • Heated outer rear seats
  • Electrically-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support
  • Surround-view monitor
  • Blind-spot view monitor

Exterior styling matches the Air specification. That means 17-inch alloy wheels, color-coded door mirrors and side sills, plus black wheel arches with silver window surrounds.

The EV4 Motion is priced from £38,995 with the Electric Car Grant applied.

Kia produces the EV4 hatchback lineup at its Žilina, Slovakia facility. The South Korean manufacturer says it has tuned and developed these models specifically for European preferences.

Performance variants are coming later this year. Kia confirmed GT-branded versions of both the EV3 and EV4 will feature all-wheel-drive electric powertrains.
