Kia will launch its electric PV5 Crew van on April 30. The vehicle transforms between passenger and cargo configurations without tools.
The PV5 Crew builds on Kia’s PV5 Cargo L2/H1 van. Users switch between a two-seat commercial setup and five-seat passenger layout using a single lever.
The one-touch system releases the sidewall-mounted seats, tips the cushions, and slides the partition between the cab and cargo area. The transformation takes seconds.
“The mechanism requires neither tools nor downtime”
Kia designed the van for multiple industries – construction, maintenance, repairs, landscaping, and airport services.
Built-In Flexibility
The PV5 uses Kia’s ‘Made In Plant’ conversion strategy. The automaker builds the flexible system directly into vehicles at its Hwaseong plant in Seoul.
An L-track mounting system secures cargo and add-ons throughout the interior.
Cargo space measures 1,278mm in five-seat mode and 1,900mm with two seats. Volume ranges from 2.4m³ to 3.7m³ depending on configuration.
The van targets a maximum payload of 625kg.
Power and Pricing
The PV5 Crew uses a 51.5kWh battery pack with 176-mile range.
Kia hasn’t announced pricing yet. The PV5 Cargo panel van starts at £27,645. The Passenger variant begins at £31,495 with the £1,500 Government Electric Car Grant applied.
Order books opened in May 2025 – deliveries started later that year.
Standard equipment includes sliding doors, 16-inch steel wheels, and front and rear parking sensors with reversing camera. The interior features a 12.9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android compatibility, plus a 7.5-inch driver display and automatic air conditioning.
Vehicle-to-load capability comes standard in the PV5 Crew with outlets in the cargo area.
The cargo floor uses non-slip material for safer loading and unloading.
