Polestar has announced the updated 4 electric SUV starting at £56,750, featuring significant chassis improvements and a streamlined trim structure for the 2027 model year.
The Swedish automaker has recalibrated the entire suspension system across Rear motor and Dual motor variants. Engineers replaced the previous internal rebound coil springs with polyurethrane rebound stops while installing high-capacity passive dampers.
New spring and anti-roll bar settings complete the chassis overhaul.
Polestar says these changes deliver “a more controlled ride in all driving conditions with improvements to both agility and comfort.”
Simplified Naming Structure
The updated Polestar 4 drops the complex previous trim system for three clear variants: Rear motor, Dual motor, and Dual motor with Performance pack.
Interior design elements now differentiate the models. Rear motor versions feature all-black seatbelts and rotary controls. Dual motor cars add Swedish gold striping to these black components. The Performance pack variant finishes these elements entirely in Swedish gold.
Two equipment levels are available across all variants – Business and Prime.
Business trim includes Pilot assist, Lane change assist, and Park assist systems. Rear privacy glass comes standard.
Prime adds premium features including a Harmon Kardon sound system and driver head-up display. Illuminated knit door cards, a rear control screen, and 12-way adjustable seats enhance the cabin experience.
The tri-zone climate control and PM2.5 air purifying system address passenger comfort and air quality.
Exterior Updates
Prime variants get visual upgrades including an illuminated Polestar logo and Pixel LED headlights with adaptive high beam functionality.
A foot-operated tailgate provides hands-free convenience.
Polestar has reduced the environmental impact since the model’s 2023 launch. Dual motor variants now produce 1.1 tonnes less carbon dioxide equivalent during production.
“The upgraded Polestar 4 is better than ever, offering a more refined ride with enhanced driving pleasure, and stronger sustainability credentials. Overall, it delivers an even more compelling package without compromise.”
Brand CEO Michael Lohscheller made those comments as order books opened for the updated model.
Performance and Pricing
The Rear motor version starts at £56,750 while Dual motor variants begin at £63,750.
The Dual motor configuration remains the fastest vehicle in Polestar’s lineup with a 0-62mph acceleration time of 3.8 seconds.
All variants benefit from the chassis improvements that should make daily driving more comfortable while maintaining the sporting character that differentiates Polestar from other premium electric brands.
