Skoda launched a new Enyaq SE L 85 trim that makes its long-range electric SUV more affordable than ever. The £1,500 UK Government Electric Car Grant brings the starting price down to £41,980.
That’s the cheapest way to get an 82kWh battery in the Enyaq lineup.
The rear-wheel drive setup delivers 359 miles of range on a single charge. Skoda built this model on Volkswagen’s dedicated MEB electric platform – the same foundation used across the VW Group’s electric vehicles.
Charging happens at speeds up to 135kW, which means going from 10% to 80% takes just 28 minutes at a fast charger.
Performance and Positioning
The single motor produces 286bhp and pushes the Enyaq SE L 85 from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds. Top speed reaches 111mph.
This trim sits above two other grant-eligible models in Skoda’s range. The SE L 60 and Edition 60 both use smaller 63kWh batteries but cost less upfront.
Skoda positions the Enyaq as a direct competitor to Tesla’s Model Y.
Standard Equipment
The SE L 85 comes with 19-inch ‘Proteus’ alloy wheels for efficiency. Inside, you’ll find a 13-inch infotainment screen mounted on the dashboard.
Standard comfort features include:
- Heated front seats and steering wheel
- Tri-zone climate control
- Skoda’s monochrome ‘Loft’ interior package
- Predictive adaptive cruise control
- Traffic jam assist and travel assist
- Keyless entry with walk-away locking
An electric ‘virtual’ boot pedal opens the tailgate with a foot gesture.
True to Skoda’s ‘Simply Clever’ approach, the Enyaq SE L keeps its signature touches – umbrellas stored in the front doors and an ice scraper tucked inside the boot panel.
Optional Upgrades
The £2,500 ‘Plus’ package adds premium lighting and comfort features. You get full LED matrix headlights and LED rear lights with animated turn signals.
Interior upgrades include an electrically-adjustable driver’s seat with memory and massage functions. Rear side airbags and manual rear window blinds round out the package.
The Enyaq isn’t Skoda’s only electric model benefiting from government incentives. The smaller Elroq starts at £30,210 after the £1,500 grant.
Neither the high-performance Enyaq vRS nor Elroq vRS qualify for the Electric Car Grant due to their higher prices.
