Nissan has updated its all-electric Ariya SUV for 2026 with a refreshed design and new technology features, including the ability to power external devices.

The Japanese automaker announced the facelift brings improved ride comfort through updated suspension tuning and enhanced driver assistance systems. The ProPilot adaptive distance control functions receive upgrades as part of the package.

Design Updates

The 2026 Ariya features a new front end with a body-colored panel and redesigned V-Motion signature that houses the headlights and running lights. Nissan describes the styling as inspired by “timeless Japanese futurism.”

New 19-inch wheels combine aluminum and resin materials.

A fresh Plasma Green paint option joins the existing range of single-tone and two-tone color choices. The interior keeps its lounge-style layout but gets a redesigned center console that increases storage space to 3.2 liters and includes Nissan’s latest 15W wireless phone charger.

Technology Improvements

The updated Ariya runs on Google’s built-in operating system – the same setup found in the new Leaf and Micra models. The system includes Google Maps-based route planning that automatically calculates the most efficient path and integrates charging stops based on real-time battery levels.

Battery preconditioning activates when approaching charging stations to reach optimal temperature for faster charging speeds.

Nissan’s smartphone app lets drivers monitor battery levels, manage charging sessions, adjust climate settings, and track tire pressures remotely. The new vehicle-to-load functionality provides up to 3kW of power output – enough to run laptops, e-bikes, or electric cooking equipment.

Battery Options and Pricing

Two trim levels offer different battery configurations. The entry-level Engage+ uses a 63kWh battery pack with 251 miles of range, while the Advance model’s 87kWh unit delivers 329 miles between charges.

Both versions support maximum charging speeds of 130kW.

Pricing starts at £37,000 for the Engage+ trim, which should qualify for the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant. The Advance model costs £43,425. Final pricing confirmation is still pending from Nissan.
