Nissan has teamed up with Pod to slash the upfront cost of a Pod Point Solo 3S home charger from £99 to £49 for customers buying the company’s electric vehicles.

The partnership allows buyers of any of Nissan’s three electric models to access the reduced price by signing up for Pod’s new Pod Drive subscription service. The service offers up to £170 per year in cash back on charging costs.

New customers choosing the redesigned Micra or third-generation Leaf can take advantage of the deal. Both models arrive in the UK in early 2026.

Existing owners of electrified Nissan models like the Ariya are also eligible.

How Pod Drive Works

Pod Drive operates as a three-year subscription costing £40 per month. Customers earn rewards equivalent to 7,500 driving miles annually – the typical driver’s yearly mileage – when they use smart charging.

The system calculates rewards after each smart charge session. Users earn miles that convert to cash at 2.3p per mile, which they can withdraw directly to their bank account.

James Taylor, Nissan GB managing director, said the partnership addresses a key aspect of EV ownership.

“At Nissan, we know a reliable, convenient, cost-effective home charging solution makes a huge positive difference to the EV ownership experience,” Taylor said.

“Pod Drive delivers exactly that, and now – just like our brand-new 100% electric models, the all-new Nissan Leaf and Micra – it’s even more affordable. We’re delighted to partner with Pod to make the switch to more sustainable motoring simpler and cheaper for our customers.”

Industry Partnership

Debbie Foley, Pod’s chief revenue officer, highlighted both companies’ history in electric vehicle development.

“Nissan has been spearheading the EV transition from the very beginning and it’s clear they show no signs of stopping,” Foley said.

She noted both companies recognized EV potential over 15 years ago and helped drive mass-market adoption of electric driving.

“Both our teams have been relentlessly innovating from the get-go and we now mark an exciting collaboration to offer their EV customers a new way to charge at home that gives them total peace of mind.”

The partnership includes Pod’s 48-hour repair or replace service following installation of the Pod Point Solo 3S. Customers also receive 24/7 support.

By 2027, Nissan plans to introduce four additional electric models. The company has indicated to EV Powered that a performance Nismo variant could be possible if customer demand supports it.
