Suzuki has partnered with Ohme as its official home charging provider ahead of the e Vitara launch – the Japanese automaker’s first all-electric vehicle.

The collaboration positions Ohme’s smart charging technology alongside Suzuki’s entry into the competitive compact electric SUV market. The e Vitara targets rivals like the Skoda Elroq and Kia EV3.

Suzuki opened order books earlier this month with pricing starting at £29,995 for the Motion trim. That entry model includes a 49kWh battery pack with front-wheel drive.

The range-topping Ultra Allgrip-e variant features a larger 61kWh battery and all-wheel drive system. Pricing begins at £37,799.

Free Charging Package for Early Buyers

Suzuki dealers will display Ohme chargers in showrooms as part of the partnership agreement. Customers ordering an e Vitara before September 30 receive a free Ohme wallbox and installation.

Early buyers also get 10,000 miles worth of free home charging credit – roughly half the annual mileage for typical UK drivers.

“As Suzuki’s first ever electric car, the introduction of e Vitara will be crucial for us in the UK and our partnership with Ohme will play an important part in that car’s success,” said Dave Kateley, Suzuki UK director.

Smart Charging Technology

Ohme’s dynamic chargers use real-time grid data to optimize charging costs and timing. The system works with the UK’s cheapest energy tariffs – some dropping as low as 5p per kilowatt hour during off-peak periods.

The chargers automatically adjust to access the lowest-cost energy windows while reducing grid dependency through solar integration features.

“I’m delighted to announce this new collaboration with Suzuki. With Suzuki’s expertise in the four-wheel drive market, the e Vitara is a great choice for those wanting to combine 4×4 technology with electric motoring,” said David Watson, Ohme CEO.

Using an Ohme charger with dynamic tariffs, fully charging the two-wheel-drive e Vitara’s 61kWh battery could cost just £4.27 during off-peak hours. That battery provides up to 264 miles of range.

Ohme maintains similar partnerships with Smart, Polestar, Volkswagen Group brands, and Hyundai across the UK market.
