Ohme has launched its Park & Charge feature for the new ePod S residential charger, bringing shared charging capabilities to apartment buildings and business properties.
The wall-mounted ePod S charger delivers charging speeds up to 22kW. It’s designed for communal use where multiple drivers need access to the same charging point.
Property developers can now install consistent charging infrastructure across their sites. This addresses the UK’s growing demand for electric vehicle charging options.
Used EV sales jumped to over 45% as recently as February. The UK now has more than 80,000 public charge points installed nationwide.
Government Support and Pricing
The ePod S qualifies for the UK Government’s OZEV grant program. This makes home charging more affordable for residents without dedicated parking spaces.
The OZEV grant increases to £500 starting April 1, 2026. Landlords and businesses can also access funding through the Workplace Charging Scheme.
Park & Charge includes a Building Management Platform for property managers. They can add or remove users, set pricing, and monitor charging activity across all units.
Drivers use the Ohme app to start charging sessions and pay directly through their phones. The app shows charging history and session details for each use.
Smart Charging Technology
The system uses Ohme’s dynamic charging technology. This connects to the national grid in real time to find the cheapest electricity rates.
The charger automatically adjusts when cars charge based on electricity prices. This reduces costs for drivers by scheduling sessions during off-peak hours.
David Watson, Ohme’s CEO, explained the benefits:
“The Park & Charge function with the new ePod S is a valuable addition to the Ohme range for those after a shared parking solution. This will not only make it easier for property developers to choose Ohme when deciding on their residential EV charging partner, as well as for businesses with shared parking arrangements or landlords.”
The Ohme ePod S starts at £949 including installation. It works with both Type 1 and Type 2 electric vehicles.
