Peugeot announced its updated E-308 electric car will deliver longer range and a redesigned front end when it goes on sale this autumn.

The refreshed competitor to the Volkswagen ID.3 and Vauxhall Astra brings exterior updates, better aerodynamics and a more efficient powertrain to the compact electric vehicle segment.

New Design Features Light-Up Badge

The most striking change is Peugeot’s first illuminated front badge.

The light-up shield sits in a redesigned front end with LED ‘strands’ radiating toward new slimline headlights. Peugeot added a new bumper designed to improve airflow and boost efficiency – typical of mid-life updates that focus on aerodynamic improvements.

The French automaker removed all chrome trim for what it calls a more modern appearance. New diamond-cut alloy wheel designs complete the exterior refresh.

Color options expand with an exclusive Lagoa Blue finish for the hatchback while the estate version gains the Ingaro Blue option already available on other Peugeot models.

Sustainability Focus

Less visible but significant – Peugeot increased recycled materials throughout the construction. The company says 31% of the new car’s build comes from recycled steel, aluminum and plastics.

Battery and Range Improvements

Under the bodywork, the E-308 keeps its 154bhp motor but gets a battery upgrade.

The new 55.4kWh pack combines with efficiency improvements to extend range by 23 miles. In its most efficient configuration, the E-308 now manages 281 miles on a single charge – though that’s still well short of the VW ID.3’s 350-mile capability.

Charging speed stays capped at 100kW, meaning a 20-80% charge takes 32 minutes.

New for 2025: a heat pump (standard on GT Premium trim, optional on others), three-phase 11kW charging and vehicle-to-load capability. The last feature lets owners run appliances directly from the car’s battery.

The E-308 also adds plug-and-charge capability to simplify the charging process at compatible stations.

Trim Levels and Features

Peugeot confirmed three trim levels: Allure, GT and GT Premium.

All versions include 18-inch alloy wheels and seats approved by AGR – Germany’s campaign for back health. A 10-inch infotainment system with upgraded graphics and wireless smartphone mirroring comes standard across the range.

The interior otherwise remains unchanged from the current model.

Pricing and full specifications will be announced shortly for both the E-308 hatchback and E-308 SW estate versions.
